GREENSBORO, N.C. — Six Oregon State wrestlers are alive in the championship round of the Southern Scuffle and the Beavers are fourth out of 34 teams after the first day of competition.

The Beavers had 14 wrestlers compete on Wednesday, including three unattached entries, with each winning at least two bouts apiece.

Jason Lara (125 pounds), Kelly Kubec (133), Garrett Drucker (133), Mike Mangrum (141), Chad Hanke (197) and Clayton Jack (heavyweight) all advanced to today's final day of competition with the chance at winning a title.

The Beavers are fourth out of 34 teams, just one point shy of No. 3 Michigan, which has 49.5 points. Cornell leads the pack with 54 points and is followed by No. 2 Penn State (50.5 points).
