Top members of the Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon will vie for a chance to perform as a soloist in an upcoming concert series.

The YSSO concerto competition will take place on at 7:30 p.m. at Southern Oregon University's music recital hall in Ashland. Thirteen advanced youth symphony musicians will perform excerpts from works by Bach, Bruch, Saint-Saens, Strauss, Hanson, Boccherini and others.

The performance is free and open to the general public.
