Ten films nominated for Academy Awards will be featured at the Ashland Independent Film Festival, April 7-11.

The full lineup of 80-plus films will be unveiled in early March, but festival organizers revealed the 10 titles in anticipation of their annual Oscar Night Gala, Sunday, Feb. 27, at the Historic Ashland Armory.

Three nominated documentary features — "Gasland," "Exit Through the Gift Shop" and "Waste Land" — will have their Southern Oregon debuts at the festival.

Four Academy Award-recognized documentary shorts — "Killing in the Name," "Poster Girl," "Strangers No More" and "The Warriors of Quigang" — also will be screened at the festival. Other Oscar nominees are the live-action shorts "The Confession" and "God of Love," and the animated short "Let's Pollute."

The Academy Awards will be shown on two 30-foot screens with concert-quality sound. Dinner, wine and a silent auction are included. Jefferson Public Radio's Geoffrey Riley will be the host.

Tickets are available online at www.ashlandfilm.org or by calling 541-488-3823.
