For a third straight match, the South Medford hockey team pulled out a victory in dramatic fashion.

Bobby Ruddle knocked in the game-winning goal in overtime to propel the Panthers past top-seeded Klamath Falls, 4-3, in the five-team Southern Oregon League prep playoffs at The RRRink on Sunday.

South beat Churchill in overtime on Friday and topped Crater in OT on Saturday during the double-elimination tournament.

Ryan Lund scored and Ruddle netted a goal on an assist by Jake Sexton in the first period for the Panthers, who are seeded fourth. Preston Carney scored on an assist from Andrew Phillips in the second period, when Klamath Falls recorded all of its goals.

Ruddle's second score of the night came with 1:42 remaining in the five-minute OT session.

South goalkeeper Brandon Andrews recorded 24 saves, while KU's Tony Watters registered 43.

Churchill will play Klamath Falls at 5 p.m. on Friday at The RRRink. The winner will face the Panthers in the championship match on Saturday.
