The Rogue Gallery's debut Rogue Valley Biennial exhibit showcases contemporary art by regional artists. The juried show will run through Thursday, March 31, at the gallery, 40 S. Bartlett St., Medford.

It is a multimedia show patterned after the long-standing Venice Biennial in Italy and the prestigious Whitney Biennial in New York City. These venues introduce newer, innovative work.

More than 90 Rogue Valley artists submitted 245 pieces of artwork for the exhibit. There's everything from prints and photo illusatrations to sculpture and paintings. Jurors Bruce Bayard, Cody Bustamante and Ann DiSalvo selected 46 pieces by 37 artists for display in the gallery. Nearly two dozen works not selected for the show will be on display at the Salon des Refus├ęs — not in Paris, but at Organic Natural Cafe, 226 E. Main St., Medford.
