Wilford Albert Ervin, 88, passed away Friday, March 11, 2011, at Avamere Three Fountains in Medford, Ore. He was born April 24, 1922, in Petersburg, Texas, to Oscar and Oneita Ervin.

In 1941, Wilford was married to Mae Dell Reedy, in Clovis, N.M. Mae Dell and Wilford had a daughter named Charlotte Marie, born 1942, now deceased.

Wilford joined the Military on May 18, 1943, and served through November 9, 1945. He achieved the rank of Private First Class, and served as a heavy construction carpenter with the 313th Combat Engineers Battalion in Italy. He assisted in construction of bridges and roads, and also laid and took up mines.

After his military service, on April 16, 1946, Wilford married Cleo Frances Thomas, in Yuma, Ariz. From 1948 through 1964, he worked with General Electric in Ontario, Calif. He then became a real estate broker, and remained one until he retired and moved to Medford in 1989.

Wilford attended the Keeneway Church of Christ. He enjoyed golf, fishing, and visiting with friends.

Wilford is survived by his wife, Cleo Frances Ervin; brother, Gene (Delores) Ervin; sister, Dorothy (Bob) Marie Trimmer; grandsons, John (Kathy) LeGros, Jr. and Kenneth (Cary) LeGros; great-grandchildren, John LeGros III and Ian LeGros; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sister, Ann Dresser; and daughter, Charlotte LeGros.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011, 2 p.m., at Perl Siskiyou Memorial Park, 2100 Siskiyou Boulevard, Medford. Glen Prosise will officiate.
