Elizabeth J. Vandewark passed away Sunday, March 20, 2011, she was 89.

Elizabeth was born February 17, 1922, in Billings, Mont., to Livingston and Hulda Blodgett. On January 2, 1943, she married Wesley Vandewark. When Wesley retired in 1974, they moved from Portland to Medford.

Elizabeth was involved in many community activities. She was a Girl Scout leader, belonged to the Church Women's Circle and was past president of Portland Chapter of Psi Psi Psi.

Elizabeth is survived by daughter, Carol Nichols, of Crescent City, Calif.; three grandsons, Mathew (Martina) Nichols, of Laughlin, Nev., Warren (Carolyn) Nichols, of Long Beach, Calif., Allen Nichols, of Las Vegas, Nev.; and two great-granddaughters, Bianca and Samantha.

She is preceded in death by her parents Hulda and Livingston Blodgett; sister, Harriett McMaster; brother, Frederick Blodgett; and her husband, Wesley Vandewark.

A memorial service will be held for Elizabeth Tuesday March 29, 2011, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Mark's Episcopal Church at 426 W. 6th Street in Medford. Memorial contributions may be made to Dogs for the Deaf.
