On Feb. 17, the Crater FFA advisers took 17 competitors to the Southern Oregon District Leadership contest in Klamath Falls. Of the nine events their students competed in, eight received the chance to move on to sectionals. These events included:

On Feb. 17, the Crater FFA advisers took 17 competitors to the Southern Oregon District Leadership contest in Klamath Falls. Of the nine events their students competed in, eight received the chance to move on to sectionals. These events included:

Beginning Parliamentary Procedures, Creed Speaking, Beginning Prepared Public Speaking, Advanced Prepared Public Speaking, Job Interview, Extemporaneous Public Speaking, and Sophomore Prepared Public Speaking. The sectional contest, held Feb. 28, included the top two contestants from each of three districts, and the first- and second-place contestants from each contest moved on to the 83rd Oregon FFA State Convention, which was held the third weekend in March at Crater High School. There were more than 2,000 FFA members at the convention.

Also this past fall, the Crater FFA Livestock Evaluation team competed at the National Livestock Judging contest at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis. The team won Reserve National Championship honors and was invited to attend the World Contest in Scotland this June.
