Thanks to more than 100 inches of new snow in March, the Mt. Ashland Ski Area has added another four days to its regular season schedule.

Normally, the ski area moves to a Friday-through-Sunday schedule after spring break, which ended Friday. Mt. Ashland announced this morning it will remain on a five-day schedule through April 17, adding four more days to the season for a total of nine bonus days. The season already had been extended by five days on Feb. 23.

Inclement weather that hampered accessibility to the ski area during spring break also contributed to the decision to extend the season, mountain managers said in a press release.

The mountain reported a 130-inch snowpack at the base and 179 inches on the upper mountain.
