Adolescence can be tough — for teens and their parents.

Adolescence can be tough — for teens and their parents.

Educator Katherine Holden and counselor Marla Estes present a free workshop for parents to explore this time of transition at 7 p.m. at the Ashland library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd.

Titled "Coming of Age Through Film: Self-Exploration as a Tool for Parenting Your Teen," the workshop will analyze an array of coming-of-age films and bring up other teaching and discussion tools to help parents understand themselves and their kids. It introduces a series of four Saturday classes that start April 9 and cost $160 to $240, on a sliding scale.
