Marion J. Fernau, 85, of Medford, Ore., passed away Monday, March 28, 2011, at home. He was born on March 28, 1926, in Ainsworth, Neb., to parents, Ernest and Mary Fernau.

He married Evelyn E. Egelhoff on May 28, 1949, in Salem, Ore. They had two children.

Marion served in the US Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He retired from Boise Cascade and was a member of the Elks Club and Moose Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping with his beloved dog, Sammy.

Marion is survived by wife, Evelyn; daughter, Linda Mowry, and her husband, Dan Mowry; daughter, Beverly Furgerson, and her husband, James Furgerson. His legacy includes four grandchildren, Gary Snow, Cheryl Anderson, Geoff Mowry, and Craig Mowry; nine great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Arrangements are being handled by Perl Funeral Home, 541-772-5488. Funeral service will be held at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Don Hildebrand will officiate the service.
