Carla Lee Myers, 67, passed peacefully at the home she shared with lifetime friend, Rovana Regennitter, in Shady Cove, on Friday, March 25, 2011. She was born in Stockton, Calif., on November 1, 1943, to Delbert and Ruth Lawry Myers, who precede her in death.
Carla lived most her life in the Rogue Valley after moving here in 1971. She was an avid reader and enjoyed drinking hot tea as she worked on crossword puzzles or coloring in her books. Her love of music was passed down from her parents and on to her children. She taught herself to play guitar, violin and the accordion, but was most in her element at the piano.
Carla was deeply spiritual and had a love of learning the scripture through Bible studies. Her favorite verse was Psalm 46:10.
Her love of family is what she will be most remembered for. Creating family gatherings through the years and making memories that will be shared in family stories to come.
She is survived by daughter, Theresa Morris; sons, John Bartlett and Walter Kirchner; and sister, Judy Northcutt. Carla had six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Her husband, William Kirchner and three infant children precede her in death; as well as sisters, Christine Hadden and JoAnne Webb.
The family sends heartfelt thanks for the thoughtful care provided by Kathy Finley, FNP and the Providence Hospice team.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Church of the Nazarene, 471 Mill Creek Road, Prospect, OR., on Saturday, April 2 at 2:00 p.m., and will be officiated by Pastor Monte Wing of Sheridan, Ore. An interment will be at the Eagle Point National Cemetery.
