With fire season is right around the corner, Ashland Fire and Rescue officials remind city residents to keep tall grasses and weeds trimmed to help control the spread of fires.

Weeds and grass should not exceed four inches in height and need to be trimmed back by June 15.

Property owners with more than one acre of space are encouraged to create 15-foot buffers around property driveways and 30-foot buffers around the home.

Failure to comply with weed trimming regulations could result in citations.
