A free business and education conference to encourage business connections between Oregon and China is set for Saturday, June 4, at Bigham Knoll Event Center, 525 East E St., Jacksonville

The conference starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 11:30 a.m. It is sponsored by Southern Oregon China Connection, Confucius Institute at Portland State University, Southern Oregon Regional Economic Development Inc., Southern Oregon Visitors Association, and Ashland Partners will take place.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and hear from:

€¢ Meiru Liu, Director, Confucius Institute, Portland State University;

€¢ Consul Tian Deyou, economic and commercial consul, Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco;

€¢ Mr. Zhao Yumin, secretary-general of Tianjin Foreign Municipal Committee of Commerce;

€¢ Ms. Zhang Zhihong, chairwoman of Rongsheng Medicine Co.;

€¢ Mr. Charlie Zhang, general manager of CYTS USA (China's third tour agency in the U.S.);

€¢ Consul Shao Wei, educational councilor, Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco;

€¢ Ms. Qian Weirong, president of Tianjin Institute of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade.

Students of Cathay Future Art School in Tianjin will perform.
