Paragliders, and hang gliders flock to Woodrat Mountain in Ruch today, but anyone can watch them from Fly High Vineyard and LongSword Vineyard's tasting patio.

Watch paragliders and hang gliders float over the Applegate and land in front of the tasting room at Fly High Vineyard and LongSword Vineyard from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., all while enjoying live music, food samples and wine tasting.

Memorial Day weekend kicks off a three-month swing of events at the vineyards, which provide a observation point for the high-flying activities at Woodrat Mountain. Events launching from the hilltop near Ruch including the West Coast Paragliding Championships in June and the annual Rat Race Paragliding Competition in July.

The Fly High Vineyard and LongSword Vineyard Tasting Room is at 8555 Highway 238, between mile markers 25 and 26 on Highway 238, Jacksonville. Fliers land at the property and observers are welcome to come join the fun. Be sure to bring your binoculars.
