A Grants Pass man attempting to inject himself with heroin he'd just purchased while he drove past a Rogue River trailer park crashed into one of the units at 10:30 a.m. May 29, Rogue River police officials said.

Justin Daniel English, 26, of Grants Pass, crashed into the front garden area of a trailer in the 300 block of West Evans Creek Road. He had been attempting to inject himself with heroin he had just purchased and passed out. He was arrested for DUII charges and heroin possession and booked in the Jackson County Jail in lieu of $19,000 bail.

Officers responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash at the mobile home park Sunday and found English, apparently unconscious, behind the wheel of a silver Saturn car. He regained consciousness when medical personnel arrived on scene. He suffered no injuries in the crash, and the mobile home suffered no damage.

Officers said English appeared to be under the influence of intoxicants when they interviewed him. Police later found a plastic bag of brown powder and other drug paraphernalia during a search of the vehicle. English told the officers he had been trying to inject himself with heroin when he passed out and crashed.
