Ashland cable television provider Ashland Home Net will take over service to Ashland customers of Talent-based InfoStructure's on July 1, the companies announced in a news release.

InfoStructure founder Jeff Rhoden said the move will provide residential customers with a better selection of services, including cable television, all through the Ashland Fiber Network.

He said Internet service would not be affected and that customers could keep the same email addresses they have.

The change will enable InfoStructure to focus on small to medium-sized businesses instead of residential customers. The company increasingly is dedicated to business phone service and is reaching outside the Rogue Valley.

Ashland Home Net President Jim Teece said his company strives to be Ashland's local Internet service provider, so the acquisition, and that it's a "natural fit" for their business model.

The terms of the transaction weren't disclosed.
