The Oregon Shakespeare Festival will extend its production of "To Kill a Mockingbird" through July 30 in the Craterian Ginger Rogers Theater in Medford with six matinee performances.

The sold-out production was set to close July 3 at the Craterian, where it moved after a cracked beam shuttered the Angus Bowmer Theatre June 18.

The availability of the Craterian and OSF's desire to provide additional performances for audiences since the Bowmer closed created a perfect scenario, according to an OSF press release.

"The Oregon Shakespeare Festival has a play. We have a theater. The Craterian is yours," said Craterian Executive Director Stephen McCandless in the release, playing off a line in the movie "Shakespeare in Love."

"'To Kill a Mockingbird' made OSF history when the entire run was sold out before its first performance," OSF Artistic Director Bill Rauch said in the release. "In another historic moment, OSF's first tour to Medford, we are thrilled to share this production with our friends in that community."

The additional shows will begin at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 7; Tuesday, July 12; Sunday, July 17; Sunday, July 24; Friday, July 29; and Saturday, July 30. Tickets range from $40 to $72, with discounts for youths.

All ticket sales will be handled by the Craterian Box Office. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. today, June 30. Call 541-779-3000 or visit http://www.craterian.org.

The city of Medford has agreed to stop parking enforcement at 1 p.m. on July 7, 12 and 29, in consideration of the extraordinary circumstances of OSF's Medford performances. The unenforced area includes Riverside to Front Street, Main to 10th Street, and the Evergreen parking garage. The garage on Sixth Street is not included and patrons parking there would be subject to the usual limits and fines.
