Manuela Mae Perez

Manuela Mae Perez passed away June 26, 2011. She passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side. Manuela was born April 13, 1918, in El Paso, Texas.

In May 1950, she married Isaac Perez. The family moved from Long Beach, Calif., to Medford, Ore., in 1966. Isaac and Mae then opened, and were the original owners of Linda's Mexican Restaurant. After a few years of retirement, Mae along with her daughter and son-in-law, Tom and Linda Rolie, re-opened Linda's Mexican Restaurant in 1984.

Mae previously had been active in the Medford Women's Lions and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She loved her family with all her heart and let each and every one of them know. The legacy she passes on is her faith in God and her love for all. She was the foundation of her entire family and she will be greatly missed.

Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Perez; and six brothers. She is survived by her sisters, Jennie Fillet and Rosalie Rodriguez; daughters, Rachel Orozco, Carmen DeLaCruz, and Linda (Tom) Rolie; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and 18 great-great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank and express their gratitude to Asante Hospice for all their help and care they provided with such great compassion to our Mom and Grandma during her last three weeks at home.

A memorial service is planned for Friday, July 1, 2011, at Perl Funeral Home, Siskiyou Memorial Park. There will be a viewing at 11:30a.m., and the service will start at 1:00p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to: Kids Unlimited, 821 N. Riverside, Medford, Ore., 97501, and the Southern Oregon Humane Society, 2910 Table Rock Rd, Medford, Ore., 97504.
