It is with great sadness that the family of Jimmie Louise Cox (Reed) announces her passing after a long battle with cancer, on Sunday, June 26, 2011, at the age of 67 years. Born to a family of 14 children, Jimmie grew up in Bakersfield, Calif., and moved to Oregon in 1964.

Jimmie will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 51 years, George Alvin Cox; their children, Andy, Steve, Craig, Cindy, Mark, Shawna, Melissa, Mary, Ben, Sammy and Milo; 28 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Although Jimmie gave birth to nine children and adopted two others, she was a mother to many, many more. She had a heart of gold and gave to everyone, never taking for herself. She was an expert seamstress who loved to quilt and make baby things. Jimmie was also an excellent cook who made the best cream pies anyone ever tasted. Jimmie was the center of the universe for the entire family. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

A funeral service in memory of Jimmie will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2011, at 1 p.m., at Perl Funeral Home, 2100 Siskiyou Boulevard, Medford, Oregon.
