Due to predicted high attendance rates at the Jackson County Expo's Red, White and Boom celebration July 4, there will be some temporary closures and traffic patrols through the day, according to a news release.

Closure of through traffic on Upton Road between Scenic and Wilson roads will start at 8:30 p.m. It will reopen after the Red, White and Boom celebration ends.

Penninger Road will also be closed to incoming traffic off Upton Road and Pine Street. Both exit 33 off ramps to Interstate 5 will be shut off.

Regular traffic patrols will be back to normal operation by midnight, the release said.

Jackson County Sheriff's Office officials said motorists not attending Red, White and Boom should avoid the mentioned areas.
