EUGENE — The North Medford Mavericks split with North Eugene in a nonleague doubleheader at Swede Johnson Stadium on Wednesday.

Kyle Packard and David Crofton hit back-to-back doubles in the first inning of the opener, helping North Medford jump out to a four-run lead in its 15-2 Game 1 win.

North Eugene recovered to take the second game, 10-2.

Crofton was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs in Game 1. On the mound, he earned the victory after allowing five hits and two walks and striking out two in six innings.

Colton Westfall finished 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs, Packard 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Bryan Carbonell 2-for-4 with two RBIs in the first game.

North Medford (40-12) hosts Henley in an Area 4 doubleheader at 2 p.m. today.
