Oregon has been picked to capture its third straight conference championship during media day for Pac-12 football. The Ducks are expected to finish ahead of Stanford in the North Division, then outduel predicted South Division titleist Southern Cal in the inaugural Pac-12 championship game.

It's a good sign for Oregon. The media poll has correctly tabbed the conference winner in 10 of the last 11 seasons.

Oregon State was picked fourth in the North, behind Washington.

Chip Kelly, the coach of an Oregon program embroiled in controversy because of a scouting service, said he couldn't answer any questions on the topic as per university instructions. He seemed confident and not the least bit flustered and said he looks forward to clearing up misconceptions.

Several times, he referred to a statement Oregon released prior to the media gathering.
