Aspiring videographers have one more week to submit an entry in The Mail Tribune's and Ashland Daily Tidings' new video contest, "Love Letters To Summer."

Everybody has something they really love about summer. It could be summer tomatoes or running through a sprinkler or floating down the Rogue or burgers on the grill or watermelons on the porch or kissing on a blanket or ... you get the idea. All you have to do is shoot and direct a video that shows your idea of the perfect summer scene — real, imagined or entirely tongue-in-cheek. Think of them as actual letters or homages to the goddess of summer.

Videos should not be longer than three minutes. They will be judged on how well they capture Rogue Valley summers, technical merit and originality, and readers will have a chance to vote for their favorites online.

The Mail Tribune/Daily Tidings Web team will select the top videos. Cinemark gift cards will be awarded to the top three winners.

A $20 Mellelo's gift card will be awarded to the People's Choice award winner.

Video submissions will be accepted until 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6. Winners will be announced Sept. 2.

Good luck and have fun!
