Motorists are advised to avoid North Ross Lane this week while work on the road nears completion.

Beginning today and continuing through Friday, KOGAP Inc. will do a top lift paving project, according to a press release from James Philp, a project engineer for Jackson County. Crews will work from dawn until dusk on this stage, which is expected to disrupt traffic.

A detour will be in place, but there will still be significant traffic delays at times near the intersection of McAndrews Road and Ross Lane, the news release said.

Residents who must use Ross Lane North will be able to get to and from their homes, and resdients who live on Ross Lane North will be individually contacted by the contractor regarding paving and driveway access in front of their homes. Construction on the $3.9 million project began in June 2010 and has a contract completion date of Oct. 31, 2011. If KOGAP maintains its current schedule, the project will be completed ahead of the contract completion date, Jackson County authorities said.
