The Jacksonville/Applegate Rotary has appointed Art Lumley as its new president.

The Jacksonville/Applegate Rotary has appointed Art Lumley as its new president.

Lumley, a Rotarian since 1994, has been involved in aviation for most of his life. He joined the Naval Air Reserve in 1949, leading to graduation as a Navy pilot. He served in a variety of capacities as a naval officer prior to retirement with the rank of commander. He began flying for United Airlines in 1965 and retired as a captain in 1991.

Lumley has been an active volunteer for a variety of service and business organizations. His current activities include coordinating an aeronautics course for the Central Medford High School, and during his presidency of Jacksonville/Applegate Rotary he plans to focus upon youth education and character development.
