Bea Rogge, native of Medford, Ore., passed away peacefully on September 17, 2011, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. Bea was born December 10, 1924, the youngest of eight children and daughter to Estelle and Joseph Konop. She grew up loving everything about her family, except her given name of Willa Mae Konop.
After completing Medford High with the class of 1943, she went on to graduate from Medford Business College. She married Ed Wood, a soldier returning from the war and moved to San Jose, Calif., to raise their four children. Returning to Medford in 1966, she married Louis Rogge and joyfully immersed herself in family, trout fishing, and volunteering her time at the County Detoxification Center.
Bea derived great satisfaction out of offering her clients opportunities for a better life. She rose through the social service ranks until she reluctantly retired at the age of 75, as an administrator with On Trak Inc.
Bea was a happy traveler, and was always lucky at the black jack table. She delighted in raising her dogs, shopping for shoes, and beating her daughter at cribbage. She became an accomplished cook with a great trove of recipes. Her generous spirit touched all who knew her and she is greatly missed.
Bea is survived by her children, Dan, Gary, David Wood, and Michelle Johnson; her four grandchildren, Sean, Jessica, Ryan, Nicholas; four great grandchildren, Killian, Maury, Cedar, and Dane.
In accordance with her request, there will be no services. A viewing will be held at Perl Funeral Home, Tuesday, September 20, 2011, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to On Trak Inc.
