A Josephine County man suspected of shooting and killing his brother and brother's wife at their Grants Pass home was arrested at 1 p.m. Tuesday by El Dorado County Sheriff's Office deputies in California without incident.

Gary Lyle Goins, 58, was arrested at a mini market near his 5157 Sierra Springs Drive home in Pollock Pines, Calif. on alleged aggravated murder charges of shooting his brother, Dennis and his wife, Susan Goins, in the head.

Goins is being held in the El Dorado County Jail.

A Josephine County Sheriff's deputy found Susan Goins in the driveway Monday afternoon with a single bullet wound to the head. The deputy had come to the home to check on Susan after co-workers expressed concern when she did not show up for work. Dennis was found inside the couple's 715 Green Mountain Lane home, also shot in the head. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Gary Goins' home is nearly a seven-hour drive from the Green Mountain Lane address.

Oregon State Police SWAT assisted sheriff's deputies in searching the surrounding area to see if the shooter was still present.

Officials from the Josephine County District Attorney's Office said the death of transient Timothy Storie, found at 9:44 p.m. the same day at 466 Galice Road with a gunshot wound to the head, is not related.

Both cases are still under investigation. Anyone with information about the case should contact Det. Josh White at the Sheriff's Major Crimes Unit at 41-474-5153 or the confidential tip line at 541-474-5160.
