SALEM — The Medford boys picked up a win by forfeit over Sprague over the weekend, although otherwise, the boys and girls water polo teams were swept at the KROC Center.

SALEM — The Medford boys picked up a win by forfeit over Sprague over the weekend, although otherwise, the boys and girls water polo teams were swept at the KROC Center.

The Sheldon boys topped Medford 19-9 and West Salem registered a 17-5 win over the Medford boys.

In those two games, John Walker, who earned all-tournament honorable mention honors, combined for five goals and Calvin Buchholz racked up four. Geoffrey Pine recorded seven saves in each contest for Medford.

The Medford girls were handed a 19-4 loss at the hands of Redmond. Carly Freda scored twice and Rayna Zohar and Jenna Cooper both chipped in a goal for Medford.

The girls were dealt a 14-3 blow by West Salem and were defeated 15-5 by Sheldon. Earning all-tournament honors were Cooper — who had three and two goals in those games, respectively — and Anne Walker.

In three games, Walker totaled 44 saves for Medford, earning herself all-tournament honorable mention at goalie.
