Young scored 23 points and added five rebounds and four assists, and Dungannon had 19 points on 6 of 12 shooting to help the Pirates (7-0) remain undefeated and move within a win of their first-ever Christmas Classic championship. They'll face Skyline Conference rival North Valley in today's final at 7:15 p.m.

"We just held our composure," said Phoenix coach Glenn Johannes, whose team placed third in the Christmas Classic last year. "They tried to slow it down and run a zone against us, and we just stayed composed and hit our free throws down the stretch."

Phoenix made 6 of 8 free throws in the fourth quarter and 16 of 23 for the game. Also for the Pirates, Dalton Richardson pulled down nine rebounds.

Cole Waddington had 17 points and five assists and Tanner Howard 13 points and 11 rebounds for Coquille (5-3), which cut a 12-point deficit to seven in the fourth quarter but could get no closer.

"We're going to face good competition (tonight) and now we're just going to get our legs rested a little bit," said Johannes, pointing out that today's game will be Phoenix's sixth in eight days. "It was a gritty win for us."

Umatilla cut a 10-point deficit in half in the fourth quarter, but the Challengers' Sydney Hunt made two free throws and Katie Aguilar another in the final two minutes.

For Cascade Christian (5-5), Aguilar had 16 points, six rebounds, six assists and two steals. Hunt scored 14 points and Jordan Martinez added eight points and four assists.
