The American Sewing Guild received a gift of $500 from Lithia Honda and $500 from Ingot Gardens as part of the businesses' "Love Bucket" campaign.

The program awards small grants to nonprofit charities. This month's award was given this morning.

The local chapter of the American Sewing Guild has approximately 300 members who sew quilts, blankets, walker bags, adult bibs, neck pillows and other items that are donated to people in need. They donate to ACCESS Inc., The Maslow Project, St. Vincent De Paul, hospitals and other organizations. The money will buy supplies for sewing projects.
