Updated: 5:05 p.m. Highway 238 south of Murphy has reopened after strong winds this afternoon knocked down trees and power lines, blocking the road, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation.

A tree fell over power lines and onto the road four miles west of Provolt just before 1 p.m., causing lane closures and delays, ODOT reported. Road and utility crews responded.

ODOT crews expected to have the road completely opened by around 4 p.m., but reported that all lanes were open again at about 5 p.m.
