Celebrations of all sizes — and volumes — are set for New Year's Eve.
Rosso's Trattoria, 31 Grape St., Medford: Ashland's newest band LOVEBITE dishes out R&B, funk and rock music and invites its audience to "groove" in the new year. The band will be joined by vocalist Jaese Lecuyer and guitarist Jeff Stanley. Rosso's opens at 4 p.m. for dinner. Live music begins at 9 p.m., and dancing is sure to follow. Cover is $20. Red Lion Hotel, 200 N. Riverside Ave., Medford: The hotel offers the whole New Year's Eve kit and caboodle: a tri-tip and chicken buffet dinner, live music, party favors (hats, noisemakers, etc.) and a champagne toast at midnight. Classic rock bands Hot Gossip and Red X will play at 9 p.m. in the grand ballroom and Characters Lounge, respectively. Dinner will be offered from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $35 per person or $65 per couple for the dinner and party package and $15 per person or $25 per couple for the dance parties only. The Wild Goose Cafe & Bar, 2365 Ashland St., Ashland: New Year's Eve at the Goose will be jammed-packed with local Americana bands. The New Autonomous Folksingers will open the evening's entertainment, and bands such as Jef Fretwell and the Detractors, Sage Meadows and Her Small Band, Justin Gordon and the Wrecking Ball and the Maybe Sometimes will take turns onstage.
