Ashland emergency and business officials will host a business emergency survival workshop from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at Southern Oregon University's Rogue River Room.

The goal of the workshop is to help individuals and businesses with emergency preparedness in case of natural and human-caused disasters.

Presenters include officials from Ashland Fire and Rescue, Ashland Home Net, the Jackson County Health Department and SOU.

The cost is $10 per business for up to two employees and $5 for each additional employee.

The Rogue FamJam, a local arts group of poets and musicians, will host a fundraising concert for the nonprofit political group Good Grief America at 8:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at Rosso's, 31 S. Grape St., Medford.

Bands playing include Lovebite, The Rogue Suspects, Frankie Hernandez, Craig Wright, Michelle Bellamy, Lost Maven, Ras Cricket, Andy Casad, Gene Burnett, The Herbal Crew and others.

Suggested donations of $5 to $10 will be taken at the door. There will be food and drinks available for purchase from Rosso's, a silent auction and a raffle.
