KOBI-TV and partners CenturyLink, Lithia Auto Stores, Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon and PremierWest Bank are launching an initiative called Youth Education Success — YES.

Participating businesses will donate a portion of their earnings one day a month to fund extracurricular activities and programs at schools in the region.

Through YES, public schools can qualify for a percentage of the overall collected funds in proportion to the student population of their county. At www.yestokids.net, educators can view the money available to each county and apply for YES grants up to $2,500 for classroom supplies, extracurricular activities or school programs.

Funding will be available for schools in Southern Oregon and Northern California.

United Way of Jackson County will handle the funds collected in the campaign.
