The Medford Police Department has announced the promotions of three members of the department.

The Medford Police Department has announced the promotions of three members of the department.

Detective Sgt. Mike Budreau will be promoted to lieutenant and will assume the duties of the criminal investigation commander. He has been with the department since June 1991.

Sgt. Curtis Whipple will be promoted to lieutenant and will assume the duties of the patrol division commander. He has been with the department since July 1996.

Derek Parks will be promoted from master police officer to sergeant. He has been with the department since March 1998.

The three candidates were selected through a competitive selection process, a news release announcing the promotions said.

They will be sworn in during a ceremony at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, in the City Council Chambers at Medford City Hall.
