Richard Thomas Barker passed away March 23, 2012, of cancer related causes at the age of 69. He lived in the Eugene-Springfield, Ore., area since 1989. He was a successful business owner, which he started the same year.

Rich loved to fish, travel, golf and camp with his many friends. He loved life and people, and was an avid Oregon Duck fan. He loved nothing more than spending time with friends, family, and his grandchildren. He could always be found with a cribbage board close by. He was very social, and loved being around people. Rich never retired, as he loved running his business, and it became a hobby as well as his livelihood.

He loved his wife and family and will be deeply missed by them.

He is survived by his wife, Louise; his sons, David Barker, of Eugene, Ore., Dan Barker, of Portland, Ore., Rick Potterf, of Bonney Lake, Wash., and Randy Potterf, of Brush Prairie, Wash.; daughters, Julie Williams, of Gilbert, Ariz., and Lori Burke, of Eugene, Ore.; mother, Iretta Barker, of Medford, Ore.; sisters, Cheryl Cummings and Nancy Grabner, all of the Medford, Ore., area; and brother, Dennis Barker, of Eugene, Ore.

Services are on Friday, March 30, 2012, 1:00 p.m., at Memory Gardens Memorial Park and Mortuary, Central Point, Ore.. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2012, 4:00 p.m., at the couple's home in Springfield, Ore.
