"Windows and Doors," a multimedia exhibit by 18 gallery artists, working in watercolor, acrylic, pencil and collage, will be displayed through April at Art du Jour Gallery, 213 E. Main St. There will be an artists' reception with refreshments from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 20. Chinese guest artist Zhang "Lilac" Xiaojing, a teacher of Chinese language and culture at South Medford High School, will be on hand to demonstrate paper-cutting techniques. Xiaojing also will display paintings and Chinese knot art.

The 27th annual "Best of the Best" student art show opens Friday and runs through May 4 at Rogue Gallery & Art Center, 40 S. Bartlett St., Medford. An opening reception, catered by a high school culinary class, will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the gallery. Teachers from 17 local high schools submitted 150 works — paintings, drawings, collages, illustrations, sculptures, ceramics and woodworks — by students for the exhibit. The Heart of Medford Association will host its third poker walk this year. Participants can pick up a score card, map and instructions at any of the participating businesses. This month's prize for the winning hand will be a $100 gift certificate to Nui Kai. Immy, artist Cammy Davis' pomimo dog, returns to the art walk, this time dressed in 1930s clothing to promote the relighting of the Holly Theatre sign Saturday, April 21. (See www.hollytheatre.org for more information.) There will be a slide show of historical theater images in Vogel Plaza during the art walk.
