A fire damaged one room of an abandoned home in the 1100 block of West 11th Street in Medford this afternoon.

A fire damaged one room of an abandoned home in the 1100 block of West 11th (number has been corrected from previous version) Street in Medford this afternoon.

Initial reports at 2:10 p.m. today said fire was coming out the windows of the abandoned home.

Four engines and about 15 firefighters responded to the blaze, which they knocked down in a matter of minutes. A majority of the fire was contained to one room, but there was smoke damage throughout the home, Battalion Chief Ken Goodson said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
