YREKA, Calif. — Monte Bischoff of Central Point won the A main race at Siskiyou Motor Speedway Saturday.

The Southern Oregon Speedway dirt track has not been able to open yet because of wet conditions, but track officials are hopeful that will change this week, according to the track website.

Bischoff, driving his F1 modified with a new body, new colors and a new 413-cubic-inch Chevrolet engine handled a dry, smooth track. In his opening heat race, he powered past another local racer, Mark Wauge, to take the win in convincing fashion.

Wauge went on to capture the trophy dash.

In the main, Bischoff started on the inside line in the second row and was able to run the upper side of the track, winning by nearly a straightaway.
