The Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement Team and Drug Enforcement Administration will take unwanted and expired medications for disposal from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at Medford City Hall, 411 W. Eighth St.

The event is part of the DEA's fourth National Prescription Day. The last event, which took place Oct. 29, yielded 377,086 pounds of unwanted and expired medications, for disposal.

"The amount of prescription drugs turned in by the American public during the past three Take-Back Day events speaks volumes about the need to develop a convenient way to rid homes of unwanted or expired prescription drugs," DEA Administrator Michele Leonhart said in a prepared statement.
