Crater High senior Neil Seibert and South Medford High senior Lauren Morgan were recipients of a combined $5,000 in scholarships toward their college education by the Pear Blossom Run Scholarship Foundation.

Crater High senior Neil Seibert and South Medford High senior Lauren Morgan were recipients of a combined $5,000 in scholarships toward their college education by the Pear Blossom Run Scholarship Foundation.

Seibert finished third in the district and fourth at the cross country state meet in 2011, covering 5,000 meters with a time of 15 minutes, 15 seconds. He has played a key role as part of three state championship teams at Crater and maintains a 3.70 GPA. He plans to attend Portland State in the fall.

Morgan is a past district champion in cross country and finished 10th at the 6A state meet in 2011. She was the district champion last year in the 800 for track and placed fifth at the 2010 state meet in the 1,500. Morgan boasts a 3.95 GPA and is still undecided in her college plans.

The Pear Blossom Run Scholarship is open to all graduating high school senior distance runners who compete in their school's cross country program or on the track team running any individual event at least 800 meters in length.
