Two men suspected of holding a homeowner at gunpoint while they stole electronics from his apartment and poured bleach on his furniture were arrested Thursday afternoon, police said.

Medford police said in a news release they are also on the hunt for a third suspect involved in the April 13 incident.

Heriberto Huizar, 23, and Michael Paul Gordon, 25, both of Medford, were arrested on charges of first- and second-degree robbery, second-degree kidnapping and first-degree theft.

Huizar also is charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and is being held without bail on a probation violation charge.

A charge tied to a homemade explosive device made from shotgun shells, gunpowder and pepper spray found in Huizar's home is pending, police said.

Gordon is being held on more than $3 million bail.

The three suspects allegedly broke into a house along the 600 block of Beatty Street at 5 p.m. Friday, April 13. The man who was robbed told police the suspects broke into his apartment, armed with handguns. They stole several household appliances, including stereo equipment and gaming consoles. They also poured bleach on furniture in the home, destroying the couch and carpet.

Police said the robbery appeared to be over debts owed to one of the suspects and is possibly drug-related.

The male victim was not hurt during the robbery attempt.

Police tracked Huizar to a house in the 700 block of South Holly Street in Medford at 4 p.m. Thursday, where he was arrested without incident. The Oregon State Police bomb squad had to be summoned to the scene to collect the explosive device.

"It obviously was intended to be used to inflict injury on somebody as opposed to a firework," said Medford police Lt. Mike Budreau.

Police arrested Gordon three hours later near the intersection of Keene Way Drive and Brookhurst Street.

Some of the stolen property has been recovered, police said.

Court records show Huizar spent 30 days in jail for domestic violence and strangulation in 2011. He was found guilty of a marijuana possession charge that same year.

Records show Gordon was arrested on methamphetamine delivery and possession charges in March. He was convicted of unlawful possession of a firearm in 2011.

The third suspect is described as an Hispanic male in his mid 30s, around 6-feet tall with a heavy build. Police said he goes by the nickname of "Payaso" and may also respond to "Miguel." Police think he is driving a light-colored Dodge Intrepid.

Anyone with information about Payaso should contact Medford police at 541-774-2230.
