PHOENIX — Police are looking for a man suspected of leading an officer on a high-speed chase along Colver Road and South Pacific Highway Saturday morning.

Gregory Paul Costa of Central Point is wanted for allegedly eluding an officer following an attempted traffic stop on Colver Road, according to a news release.

An officer tried to pull Costa over for not wearing his seatbelt as he drove his 2004 Toyota Camry south on Colver Road at about 10:30 a.m. Costa pulled away at a high rate of speed, and the officer followed.

Police said the officer terminated the pursuit at South Pacific Highway because of traffic conditions. Police later found the car crashed into a fence at the intersection of Creel Road and South Pacific Highway in Talent. Costa had run off.

Talent and Ashland police, Oregon State Police troopers and the Jackson County sheriff's deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate Costa. Police ask anyone with information about Costa's whereabouts to call 541-535-1113.
