Governor Kitzhaber has appointed Tom Tuchmann as the new Forestry and Conservation Finance Advisor.

Governor Kitzhaber has appointed Tom Tuchmann as the new Forestry and Conservation Finance Advisor.

Tuchmann leaves his job as president of U.S. Forest Capital, a forest land management business.

Tuchmann will work with timber-dependent counties that have lost federal funding for the O & C Lands.

Doug Robertson is the president of the Association of Oregon and California Counties. He is optimistic about what Tuchmann can accomplish in this role.

“We’ve never frankly had the governor specify somebody to work on this issue with Tom’s background.”

Robertson says Tuchmann will be able to bridge many interest groups' needs and concerns.

Tuchmann previously served as Western Director and Special Assistant to the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture.
