Rogue Community College's business technology department has proposed several new certificate programs designed to meet training needs for jobs in customer service, reception, retail sales and service, and small business management.

The curriculum has been submitted to the Office of Community College and Workforce Development. If approved, the career pathway certificates will be offered in the fall.

Randy Wade, chairman for the business technology department, said state employment studies show a strong future demand for such jobs, which should offer living wages. The training would also benefit entrepreneurs and small-business owners, he said.
