Rogue Valley Council of Governments has launched a program to help residents and businesses in Jackson and Josephine counties add solar power.

Rogue Solar offers informational workshops, equipment discounts, connections with certified contractors, and help with permits, rebates and other paperwork. It is designed to help people overcome logistical and financial hurdles to going solar and is based on a model that has succeeded around the state, organizers said.

A free workshop is set for 6 p.m., Tuesday, June 26, at Pioneer Hall, 73 Winburn Way, Ashland. Additional workshops are planned in Medford, Eagle Point and Grants Pass in coming months.
