As part of Jackson County Library Service's summer reading program, children can learn to make snacks from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, June 28, at the Central Point library, 116 S. Third St.

Children ages 4 to 6 will make and decorate a chocolate-covered pretzel, and children ages 7 to 12 will learn how to create chocolate pops in molds.

Bonnie Criswell, assistant manager of Shooting Star Nursery in Central Point, will speak to the Phoenix Garden Club at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 28, in the Community Room of the Phoenix library, 510 W. First St.
