Rogue Community College has awarded its 2012 Outstanding Citizen Award to retired educator Glen E. Guttormsen, according to a news release.

RCC President Peter Angstadt presented the award last week. Guttormsen, former vice president of San Jose State University's Business and Finance Department, also created the Glen E. Guttormsen Nursing Endowment through the RCC Foundation as a tribute to his wife and to assist aspiring nurses.

"Mr. Guttormsen's generosity serves our students well in the pursuit of their dreams and goals," said Jennifer Wheatley, RCC Foundation executive director. "He has cast his vote in favor of building a stronger Rogue Community College that will prepare our students to become leaders in their professions and community."
