EUGENE — Taylor Raff went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and one RBI and Jared Evans finished 2-for-2 with two runs in the North Medford Mavericks' 10-3 win over Marist in the Best of the West Invitational at Swede Johnson Stadium on Wednesday.

The Mavericks used a three-run fifth inning to end the contest early.

A.J. Miller and Evans combined to pitch a three-hitter for North, which improved to 18-5 overall.

CENTRAL POINT COMETS 8-5, NORTH JACKSON EAGLES 1-0 — At Eagle Point, Blake Fahndrich pitched a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts and two walks in the second game and Taylor Pardee threw a two-hitter with five strikeouts and three walks in Game 1 to help lift Central Point to the Area 4 sweep.

In the first game, Pardee went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, Tyler Aplin 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Paul Turner 2-for-3 for the Comets.

In Game 2, Tanner Ryerson finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs against North Jackson (7-12, 7-8 Area 4).

ASHLAND PILOTS 9-8, NORTH COOS WATERFRONT 7-10 — At Ashland, Carter Glick went 2-for-3 with two RBIs in the opener and Eric Carlson finished with a triple, double and two RBIs in the second game as the Ashland Pilots split their American Legion A Area 4 doubleheader.

Glick hit a two-run single in the first inning of Game 1 for Ashland (7-4 Area 4).

On Monday, the Pilots beat the Klamath Falls Hawks 2-1 in the opener and 21-1 in the second game.
